Welcome!

The China Trade Bonsai Society  is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 as an outgrowth of  bonsai and penjing classes originally conducted by the late Val Gallagher in New London, CT.  The society consists of an all volunteer membership,  including many of Val's original students, with a mutual interest in the ancient horticultural art of bonsai.

The club provides varied programs including lectures, demonstrations,  exhibitions, beginner classes, and more advanced-enthusiast workshops.  Members gain access to a library of bonsai videos and books, participate in auctions and raffles, among many other activities. Some of these activities include (but not limited to) field trips, bonsai supply/tree buying excursions, visits to bonsai show/collections and other educational events.   The annual membership fee is modest and provides members a variety of opportunities to learn about bonsai techniques.

Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, March through November from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Connecticut College, New London Hall, New London, Connecticut.  See you there!
